How Do I Start Using a Managed VMware Cloud Solution?
Simply click configure on the Managed VMware Solutions you are interested in and choose the configuration options you would like. From there you finalize the checkout process and instructions will follow for accessing your account.
Do you offer customized Managed VMware Solutions?

What can I run on a Managed VMware Solutions?
You can host any applications or 3rd party software just as you would on a physical server. You can run anything from mission critical applications to development platforms.
How many virtual servers can I run per VMware host?
You can run an unlimited number of virtual servers up to the maximum the hardware can handle or the VMware vSphere maximum limits.

What is the maximum virtual server size I can run?
A virtual server can be configured with up to 8 virtual processors, 255GB of RAM, 60 virtual disks, and 2TB per virtual disk.

What type of support is included?
HPC Host offers support on the VMware ESX host through our knowledge base, ticket system, and phone support 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
How difficult is it to use HPC Hosts Managed VMware Solutions?
Managed VMware Solutions with HPC Host is very easy to manage and does not require technical skills to use effectively. By using the web GUI or client GUI you can quickly control, create, and configure your virtual servers much more simply than even physical dedicated servers. Combined with our knowledgebase and videos you will be able to immediately deploy your environment.
Can I use my own operating system licenses, or do I have to use yours?
Yes you can use your own Operating System licenses. If you order a pre-built template that requires a paid license then we require you to purchase the license through us. You can of course install the OS and provide your own license instead.
Can I order multiple VMware ESX hosts and manage them all together?
Yes you manage them all under the Web GUI or Client GUI. You can also have Private Networks connected between them all for inter virtual server networking.

What operating systems are supported ?
HPC Host Managed VMware Solutions supports multiple operating systems in both 32 bit and 64 bit including but not limited to windows 2003/2008, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, SUSE, Solaris, FreeBSD, etc...

What hardware is HPC Host Managed VMware Solutions run on?
HPC Host uses an enterprise infrastructure consisting of vmware supported hardware. Servers by the top 3 companies HP, Dell, and Supermicro are used. Storage is run on NetApp Storage systems. Networking is run on Cisco and Enterasys.
How do I administer my Managed VMware Solution environment?
There numerous choices to administer your Managed VMware Solution environment: Web GUI, Client GUI, Remote Desktop, or SSH.
Can I create, customize, and install my own servers?
Yes you can create your own server, configure the virtual hardware, and install an OS very easily using the Web GUI or Client GUI provided.
How secure is the VMware ESX host?
The ESX host is isolated behind our enterprise class firewalls with no access to the public internet. Connection for management of your VMware ESX environment is through a secure and encrypted Web SSL VPN connection which provides access to only your environment.
Is my data secure and safe at HPC Host?
Your data resides on NetApp clustered storage systems running RAID-DP (RAID 6) with multiple spares. The Storage infrastructure is completely isolated with absolutely no outside connection from any other network including the public internet. Furthermore your data is secured on it's own storage volume with no access available from any other customer possible. You can rest assured your data is secured and safe while hosted at HPC Host.
What network speed do you provide for public and private?
We provide 1Gbps uplinks for both public and private networks with each server.
Are virtual machine imports supported by HPC Host such as VMDK files, OVF, etc..??
HPC Host provides a virtual server import service free of charge*. We will import your custom virtual image from a number of sources that are supported by VMware. The customer can also import using vmware converter should they choose to attempt it themselves. *Certain may limitations may apply.
Billing
What are the startup costs of a Managed VMware Solution?
The cost largely depends on the processor platform and configuration you choose. Many of the servers do not require a contract and are month to month while some of the new server platforms require 6 month contracts. The server description will provide details in whether a 6 month contract is required.
Do you charge for data transfer on private networks?
No, we do not charge for data transfer on private networks.
